What you’ll learn

Workshop A - Tall Grass Prairie History & Intrinsic Value

This will include education on the beneficial ecosystem services provided by Ducks Unlimited, with reclamation using native plants, and some suggested easy-to-grow plant species for different site characteristics.

  • The takeaway of the presentation will end with homeowner information and what they need to know to start their own native planting at home.

Workshop B _ Native Plants In Our Own Backyard

Presenter: Kelly Leask @ 2:15pm

  • ACAN welcomes in person Kelly Leask, owner and manager of Prairie Originals native plants in Selkirk, Manitoba.

  • This presentation will provide a further introduction for how to establish and care for  native plants in our yards and gardens.

  • Identifying, collecting seed, and preparations for spring planting will be featured.

  • Kelly's enthusiastic and knowledgeable way of presenting thrilled zoom participants in 2021 as she introduced native plants to us, and we are eager to learn more from her.
