About Us

Altona Community Action Network began five years ago with a conversation around a fire. We are citizens invested in the town of Altona and the surrounding area, concerned about our community’s sustainability, and ability to deal with climate change.

Over the years we have been involved in small and large projects alike including: establishing year round curbside composting in Altona, managing the community garden, earth day events, compost give-away, community consultation, and much more.

We meet regularly as a larger group, while having smaller action groups meet to tackle projects in our community.
